In retail the profit lives in the gap between buying and selling — if the expenses aren't in the books, you're taxed on the whole turnover. Vadi records daily takings and supplier invoices, and does the tax maths itself — from €9/month.

Regular goods trading is economic activity — register it with the tax office (VID) (free, via EDS). In trade, with real cost of goods, the general regime almost always beats the micro-enterprise tax (MUN).
Under the general regime tax is calculated on profit — but only if the supplier invoices and delivery notes are in your books. A lost document means a bigger taxable amount.
The €50,000 limit is measured against total sales, not profit — in retail you reach it quickly. Vadi tracks your turnover and warns you before the threshold.
You serve your customers — Vadi keeps the books in the background.

Drop in a supplier's invoice PDF or snap a photo — the amount, date and supplier fill in by themselves. Every document lowers your tax.
Vadi tracks your 12-month turnover and warns you before €50,000 — so VAT registration doesn't feel like a punishment for a good season.
The quarterly social-contribution (VSAOI) report and the annual income declaration (D3) — computed from your records, ready to file in EDS. The calendar reminds you of deadlines.
Close the till in the evening and enter the day's total from your phone — no computer needed. Receipt and invoice images are stored with the records.
Enter your monthly turnover and stock costs — the calculator shows the MUN and the general regime side by side, with real figures. No sign-up.
Open the calculatorUnder the general regime: social contributions (VSAOI) of 31.07% on a chosen base (at least the minimum wage of €780 if your monthly income reaches it) plus 10% for pension insurance on the excess, and in the annual declaration personal income tax (IIN) of 25.5% on profit — that is, on the difference between sales and expenses. MUN at 25% of the entire turnover rarely pays off in trade.
Almost always the general regime: in retail the cost of goods is typically 50–80% of the price, and MUN at 25% of the whole turnover works out far more expensive than taxes on profit. Compare both in our calculator with your own numbers.
When your transactions total €50,000 over 12 months — the whole turnover counts, not the profit. After registration you charge VAT on sales but can deduct the VAT on purchases as input tax. Vadi tracks your turnover and warns you in time.
For cash sales you generally need a VID-registered cash register or POS system; there are exceptions (for instance, certain kinds of street trading). The requirements are set by Cabinet regulations — confirm your case with VID. On Vadi's side: daily takings are recorded as totals, and your books stay declaration-ready.
From €9/month (incl. VAT) — income and expense tracking, VSAOI and income-tax calculations, the annual declaration and the tax calendar. The first 7 days are free and no card is required. Bank-statement import and receipt scanning are on the Pro plan.
Vadi isn't only for traders. The same system works for every self-employed person and company in Latvia.
